It wouldn't be Vermont without a celebration of the cow. The Strolling of the Heifers is an annual parade that supports and sustains "family farms by connecting people with healthy local food, and by showcasing the farmers and food producers who bring it to them." Weekend event highlights include the Great New England Coffee Cakes and Sweet Breads Competition, the Tour de Heifer bike race, live music, local farmers market, and of course the parade itself!
This fantastic festival in Southern Vermont features up to 20 hot air balloons taking flight over the Upper Valley where below live music, local vendors, and craft artisans entertain the masses. This one is definitely worth the trip for Father's Day weekend.
