Some notable local adventures in the area include alpine and nordic skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the warmer seasons at Bolton Valley Resort, about 15 minutes away, or Cochran’s, only 5 minutes away from town. The famous Mount Mansfield and Camel’s Hump are both less than an hour away for hiking adventures. It can’t get much better than a 5-minute commute, especially when it comes to those mid-week micro-adventures.
In town, you’ll find a few great restaurants, coffee shops, and even a brewery. We strongly recommend checking out Stone Corral for a plate of nachos and delicious Vermont beer. The Kitchen Table, just off I-89, offers some of Vermont’s finest farm-to-table dining. If you are looking to switch things up, Burlington is only two exits away on 1-89, make it quick and easy to explore more restaurants and local businesses in the area.
Richmond is a part of the Mount Mansfield Unified School District, along with Bolton, Huntington, Jericho, and Underhill, Vermont. MMUSD focuses on providing outstanding education through global learning and critical thinking while fostering a strong sense of community. When it comes to employment opportunities IBM, Marathon Health, The University of Vermont Medical Center, and the Howard Center are a few great companies to explore in nearby Burlington and Essex. As well, there are lots of great trade jobs in the area, from carpentry to construction.
