Located in the northwestern area of Lamoille County, Vermont, the town of Cambridge offers its 3,884 residents easy access to Canada, Burlington, Lake Champlain, Northern New Hampshire, and the Adirondacks.

This ideal location makes it an excellent option for those who may need to commute into the city for work and still want to escape to the mountains to enjoy nature in their free time. One of the largest employers for this region is Smuggler’s Notch Resort, which provides skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and a water park.

Younger members of the Cambridge community attend the Cambridge Elementary School from Pre-K to sixth grade where they are given unique learning opportunities that empower, motivate, and encourage them to grow into contributing members of society. After moving through elementary school, students then attend the Lamoille Union Middle School, followed by the Lamoille Union High School before graduating.

Cambridge is also home to a large section of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, which initially was a functional part of both the St. Johnsbury & Lake Champlain Railroad and the Burlington & Lamoille Railroad. Today it offers a safe and scenic path for those who wish to go for a leisurely bike ride, a pleasant walk, or a long jog. Another piece of historical goodness worth checking out is the Gates Farm Covered Bridge. Covered bridges are iconic to Vermont, and this particular one that originally crossed over the Seymour River was the last Burr Truss arch-designed covered bridge to be built in 1897. It is now located on private property but can be admired from a nearby road.

After a day on the hill, exploring the rail trail, or taking in the beautiful historic sights of Cambridge, head into town and grab a delicious pizza, sub, calzone, or salad at Angelina’s located right on Main Street. Also found in the center of town is the Cambridge Village Market, which has been serving the members of this community since the 1850s and continues to provide local produce, deli sandwiches, coffee, beer and wine, and a variety of other groceries to its patrons.
