Charlotte is a beautiful and quaint town situated just 25 minutes south of Burlington among the rolling and lush farmlands that surround the Champlain Valley. The strong sense of community here stems from the long history and love for farming in the area. Charlotte borders Shelburne to the north and Ferrisberg to the south, with its western border extending out into Lake Champlain and New York. The Green Mountains, including Camels Hump, sit to the east and loom beautifully over the valley. In the winter months, Sugarbush Ski Resort and the Mad River Glen Ski Cooperative are one hour away and feature some of the best snow on the east coast.

Charlotte farmers grow and craft some of the best products in Vermont, from cheese to vegetables to wines. These products can best be enjoyed at Philo Ridge Farm and the Backyard Bistro, both of which have menus that change seasonally to utilize the farms’ freshest ingredients.

Charlotte is uniquely situated next to beautiful Lake Champlain, and offers many ways to enjoy the water. The Charlotte Town Beach is a picturesque rocky alcove looking out over the Adirondack Mountains - the perfect place for an evening dip with the sunset or an all day cookout. There are also multiple boat launches for watercraft from canoes to sailboats. Mt. Philo State Park is known as one of the best views in Vermont, and much more accessible than some of the state's higher peaks. The park offers camping and has lots of options to picnic and hang out for the day! The area is also home to amazing road cycling, with the picturesque Lake Champlain Bikeway running right through Charlotte, and more challenging climbing through the Appalachian and Lincoln gaps to the east.

The Charlotte Central School serves grades K-8, and is connected to the Champlain Valley Central School District. This district is one of the best in Vermont and feeds into the #3 ranked high school in the state, the Champlain Valley Union High School (CVU). When looking at employment opportunities, Charlotte has a variety of availability in farming, local restaurants, and state parks. In nearby Burlington there are larger employers such as UVM, New England Air Systems, and VHB, among others.

Charlotte provides the perfect blend of rural, quiet living with proximity to Burlington in the north, Lake Champlain to the west, and the beautiful Green Mountains to the east. This small-town oasis encompasses Vermont in every way possible!
