Located in northern Vermont, this small town sits on the spine of the Green Mountains and is filled with rolling dirt roads and beautiful forests. The 3,491 residents of Johnson enjoy year-round recreation in the peace and quiet of the Vermont countryside. 

Johnson sits north of Stowe, east of Cambridge, and west of Morristown. All of these town centers are within 20 minutes and offer a variety of amenities for locals. Vermont’s largest city, Burlington, is just under an hour away to the west, and Montpelier is 45 minutes south. Boston is 3.5 hours south, and Montreal is 2 hours north over the Canadian border.

Students in grades PK-6 attend the Johnson Elementary School, which enrolls 225 students in town. Students then move onto the Lamoille Union Middle School for grades 7 and 8, and the Lamoille Valley High School until 12th grade. These schools are a part of the Lamoille North Supervisory Union, which serves students throughout the county. Many locals in Johnson work on smaller family farms or in the trades, while others choose to work for larger employers in the area. The newly founded Vermont State University will include the Northern Vermont University Johnson Campus as part of a larger merger, and will be looking to fill positions. Other employers include the Copley Hospital in Morristown, Stowe Mountain Resort, and Smugglers’ Notch.
